Almost a hundred routes, including a variety of transatlantic flights, operate into Glasgow International Airport. The airport is eight miles (13 km) from the city centre - only 15 minutes by road - and regular shuttle buses connect with the city and the rail network. Prestwick is 30 miles (48 km) from the city, around 45 minutes by road or rail. The airport has its own rail station and regular direct services connect with the city. | Three companies offer links between Northern
Ireland and Scotland, for both vehicles and foot passengers. They arrive
at ferry terminals at Stranraer (88 miles/ 142 km from Glasgow), Cairnryan
(83 miles/ 133 km) and Troon (37 miles/60 km) on the Ayrshire coast.
Rail services into the city operate from Stranraer and Troon. P&O Irish Sea operates sailings from Larne to Cairnryan and
Troon. Caledonian MacBrayne offers services including Dunoon to Gourock and Rothesay to Wemyss Bay, plus seasonal cruising on the Firth of Clyde.
