HIDDEN GARDENS
The award-winning Hidden Gardens have completely transformed a derelict wasteland to the rear of Tramway in Pollokshields into a dynamic open-air community resource and peace garden. In these beautiful surroundings the Gardens aim to take the lead in engaging people with their built and natural environment.

Labyrinth At Hidden Gardens
How do you picture the built environment? High buildings? Dominant architecture? Jim Buchanan is an environmental artist exploring the application of the ancient labyrinth as contemporary walk-through sculpture. Inspired by the Hidden Gardens programme of walking meditation in Saint Ninian's Bower, Jim creates a projected labyrinth of light onto a sand floor. This acts as a recording surface as each participant undertakes the pilgrimage journey to find the labyrinth's centre.

Urban Summit
This year's conference will explore New Urbanism and the Future of Place Making. New Urbanism is the revival of our lost art of place making and is essentially a re-ordering of the built environment into the form of complete cities, towns, villages and neighbourhoods - the way communities have been built for centuries around the world.

Taking the debate about New Urbanism as its starting point, this conference will look at the future of placemaking in Scotland with an interesting array of local and international speakers.

Architectural Poetry
Following on from the positive feedback of 2004, Cutting Teeth magazine will once again be working with emerging writers to place poems in prominent windows across Glasgow. The poetry will respond to its location as well as the cultural legacy of Glasgow, encouraging passers-by to reflect on the city and its history. Referencing Glasgow's rich literary tradition whilst in the process bringing poetry into public buildings, the windows will provide the 'pages' for the work. Walk around and see them all.
